27th July - OUR LAST DAY...

Hello!

This is the last day that we have been able to enjoy Cambridge's environment and the activities that the city offers.

In the morning, we stayed at home for a while, because the students had to continue with their Scrapbook and Magazine. After that, we went to the library so that they could update their blogs and diaries.

In the afternoon they had some free time for finishing their shopping (or that's what we think :P), and then we met at Parker's Piece, for the farewell party!

We had a good time, and we had a small barbecue, with chicken wings and hot dogs! For desert, we could try the typical American s'mores (biscuits, chocolate and marshmallows... yummy!).

Afterwards, we went to Andy's Café to watch the opening of the Olympics in London! There were a lot of people there, and the ceremony was really beautiful :)

Then, we came back home and students finally finished the magazine and scrapbook! They look fantastic! After that, everyone went to bed... We need to rest; tomorrow is going to be a loooooooooong day!!

So this is it; this is our last blog entry... We hope you have enjoyed it, and we also hope that this is useful for everyone to remember this awesome experience!

Goodbye! :)

26th July - TREASURE HUNTERS!

Hi there!

As you can see in the title, our students became Treasure Hunters for a day ! They had to follow several indications around Cambridge! It was an interesting activity for them, although we know that it was a bit hard... For this reason, we can say that the students know the city of Cambridge perfectly! We are very proud of them :)

Diplomas for the winners!
In the evening we decided that we could go for a walk around the city, because at this time you can see many people, and Cambridge looks a bit different, don't you think, guys?!

See you! Thanks for reading, mums and dads :)

25th July - QUIET DAY...

In the morning, as usual, the students kept on working on their blogs and diaries, and when they finished, they split in groups in order to complete their magazine. Everyone is doing a great job, as you will see at the end of these three weeks.

After the library, we set off to have our packed lunch, and then we gave them plenty of free time so that they could buy the last presents and souvenirs. I hope they remember about the 15 kilos luggage limit... ;)

Then, we met at home and we started our Reading Club. The sun was shining, so students had the idea of doing it in the garden... We had a good time.

After dinner, we started our theme night: Cinema! Everyone is very excited about creating a documentary about Cambridge by themselves. We are looking forward to seeing the result! :)

24th July - SEVEN GHOSTS AROUND CAMBRIDGE!!!!!!!

We can't believe that we're having such a good weather in Cambridge!!!! This is great, because we can take advantage of our outdoors activities.

One of these activities was the Olypics Tour, in which our students had to interview people in King's Parade. They worked in groups, and at the end they were very happy with the result! Do you want to see them into action?

Afterwards, students had some spare time for doing some shopping and having a walk, and then we went home, because we were up to something really, really spoooooooky... We were going on a GHOST TOUR!!!!

Students had to wear dark clothes, and put on some face paint so that they looked creepy... This was the result:
We are soooo creepy, aren't we?
Ghosts waiting for the bus...
Once we got to the city centre, we started our tour... We couldn't believe that Cambridge had so many stories about ghosts... Look!

Ghosts at Sydney Sussex College
Ghosts at Magdalen College
Rodrigo, the ghost, telling a horror story about Magdalen College
Somebody call the Ghostbusters!!!!!!!!!
St. John's College
Creepy Clare College... Can you see us?
This is the story about the ghost of Dr. Greene...

There's even a ghost story in this Chocolate Fudge Shop!
The Haunted Bookshop... can you believe it?
Indigo Coffee House... it's haunted!
The Eagle Pub also has some stories about tables moving and spoons spinning...
Corpus Christi College... Wooooo....
This was a funny activity for everyone, and we even had some frights!!!!!!
See you tomorrow... unless Cambridge spirits possess us....... OH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

23th July - NO LIBRARY, YES CRICKET!!!

Yesterday it was a happy day for our students. Since they are doing quite a good job with this week's magazine, they could enjoy their morrning off!!

They decided to go bowling, and they had a lot of fun!

After that, we went to a new park: "Romsey Recreation", which had a lot of sports facilities and places to have some rest. There, we met two members of the City Council Staff, who taught us how to play cricket! It was very interesting, and luckily we had the perfect weather for our match!

Once at home, we continued our scrapbook, which is actually looking quite cool!

Finally, it was a little bit late, and since we were tired from the cricket match, we decided to go to bed... See you tomorrow! :)

21st July - SUNNY ELY

We have had a nice sunny weekend, and for this reason we could enjoy our trip to Ely on Saturday.

Ely is a beautiful town near Cambridge, so in the morning, after having breakfast, we went to the train station to get our tickets.

Once in Ely, we visited the Tourist Information Office, and the students gathered as much information as possible from the staff there. They decided the route that we would follow, and this is what we visited:

Just arrived in Ely!

20th July - A BUSY DAY! :)

What a busy day we had!!!! Do you want to know what happened? Keep reading, and you'll find out!

At the library, students got ready for presenting their magazines with a projector in the meeting room, because it's also important that they get used to presenting topics and giving information to an audience (the rest of students). And this is how well they did; look!

After doing such a great job, we had lunch, and then students could enjoy some free time. After that, we went to meet our international friends for going on a punting tour! We were looking forward to it :)
